2018 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko S/C White w/ Orange Stripe 1:18 Scale by Auto World AW255

Auto World has released the latest version of the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko S/C 1:18 scale diecast.  This model is finished in white with an orange stripe and features an opening hood, trunk, doors, detailed interior an authentically detailed engine bay.
The Auto World AW255 is now in stock at KC Auto and these will go fast.  Auto World only made 300 of these and will be a highly sought after collector item.  Pick one up before they are gone!
Don Yenko’s vision of the ultimate Camaro lives on for the 2018 model year thanks to SVE (Specialty Vehicle Engineering). They produced just 25 of the supercharged Camaros. SVE started with a 2018 Chevy Camaro SS with the 1LE performance option. The stock LT1 engine is bored out to 6.8L displacement and features a forged 4340 steel crankshaft and H-beam rods, forged aluminum pistons, ported LT4 cylinder heads, upgraded the fuel system, and fed it with a custom- built supercharger. It has more than twice the factory 455hp and SVE beefed up it up to a teeth-chattering 1000hp!

Rupes Bigfoot LHR15 Mark III vs Rupes Bigfoot LHR21 Mark III Polisher

Rupes Bigfoot LHR15 Mark III vs Rupes Bigfoot LHR21 Mark III Polisher

Rupes Bigfoot LHR15 Mark III vs Rupes Bigfoot LHR21 Mark III Polisher

Are you trying to decide between the Rupes LHR15 and LHR21 Mark III Polishers?  Both are fantastic polishing machines and in a perfect world, I would have one of each in my detailing arsenal.  If you need to decide on just one we have a breakdown of what each machine does best.
Both the Rupes LHR15 and LHR21 Mark III polishers are dual action, random orbital machines.  The LHR15 features a 15mm orbit combined with a 5" backing plate.  The Rupes LHR21 Mark III features a 21mm orbit with a 6" backing plate.
The LHR15 is a great machine for polishing and correcting paint.  The 15mm large orbit runs at a higher speed on a smaller 5-6" pad.  When you decrease pad size, it increases the cutting power.  The LHR21 works best on larger vehicles or in a body shop/panel off setting.  It accomplishes cutting and polishing with a larger orbit than the 15mm unit and a lower speed.  In terms of cutting and finishing speed, both machines are nearly identical.
The Rupes LHR15 and LHR21 Mark III polishers have many of the same convenience features.  They both have dual rubber bump stops on the back so you can set the unit down without it tipping over or sliding.  The speed dial is now larger, easier to adjust, and is protected by the rear bump stop. The new polishers also feature a progressive trigger that allows for adjusting the speed of the unit on the fly.  This helps when priming pads, working on complex body curves and throttling back when working edges.
In summary, the Rupes LHR15 and LHR21 Mark III polishers are both great units.  The LHR15 is the most versatile unit to use on smaller panels and areas.  The LHR21 advantage comes when working on larger work area panels.  Both correct and finish well.  Some detailers have converted the LHR21 to a 5" backing plate to gain more cutting power, but some have found vibration is a negative side effect with the smaller backing plate.  The machine is engineered and balanced to work with the 6".  We do sell the Rupes 5" backing plates if you wish to explore this option.  If you have any other questions about these polishers, please contact us.  Happy polishing!

Update: Highway 61 18007 Steve McQueen's 1969 Chevrolet C-10 Baja 1000 Truck 1:18 Scale Diecast

Highway 61 has informed us that the much anticipated release of the 1969 Chevrolet C-10 Baja 1000 Truck in 1:18 scale will be in June.  After quite a few delays, we now have pictures of the actual diecast and it looks great!  The diecast features graphics of the original livery when the truck was driven in the Mexican 1000 Rally (Baja 1000).  It comes with a detailed interior, opening doors, hood and tailgate, spare tire, and a detailed engine compartment.  Like other Highway 61 releases it also features a rotating driveshaft and rubber tires.  Part number Highway 61 18007.
The original truck comes with a lot of history.  The truck was prepared by Vic Hickey as a baja race truck and raced quite a few times.  Steve McQueen purchased the truck in 1970.  Under his ownership it was raced to victory at Riverside by off-road racing legend Mickey Thompson.  In 1972, McQueen sold the truck to fund divorce proceedings.  A employee of Vic Hickey purchased the truck and used it as a farm truck for many years before being restored.  The truck was sold at a Mecum Auction in 2013 for $60,000.
